From Democracy Messaging to Smart-Grid Nation Building
A journey that began with uniting a nation now expands into building human capital, digital infrastructure, and resilient energy systems across Africa.
A Legacy of Development in Africa
Limkokwing has a footprint in Africa starting from the early 1990s, established in response to a historic call for assistance from Nelson Mandela. Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad connected Mr. Mandela with the late Tan Sri Limkokwing, who conceived and executed the strategy for the ANC's victorious 1994 election and the slogan "A Better Life for All".
Following this success, Tan Sri Limkokwing pivoted from communications to education to build human capital, launching a mission to empower the next generation of African leaders.
A Continent-Wide Mandate
Success in South Africa led to invitations across the continent. Campuses were established in Botswana, Lesotho, Eswatini, Sierra Leone, and beyond, with a mandate to build human capital and support economic independence.
- Digital economy and data sovereignty.
- Renewable energy and energy access.
- Urban renewal and smart-city initiatives.
INDEXED emerges from this ecosystem as the digital infrastructure arm focusing on smart grids and regulated infrastructure.
Continuing the Mission Today
Governments continue to approach the Limkokwing ecosystem to support sovereign missions in education, energy, food security, and data. INDEXED provides smart-grid and digital governance platforms that make these missions operational, trackable, and investable.
